History of Keeping Cats - When did humans domesticate cats


 Have you ever thought when did humans start keeping cats? This is not a new thing, it is a story thousands of years old.Where was cat first kept as a pet?

History says that about 4000 years ago in Egypt, cats were first kept in homes. Egyptians loved cats very much. They considered cats a symbol of good luck and peace. They even made statues of cats.After that, slowly cats spread all over the world.Why do humans keep cats? Why this hobby?

There are 3 main reasons for this:

1. For peace and mental relaxation:

Doctors say that holding a cat in your lap reduces tension. When a cat makes a purring sound, it gives great peace to the heart. That is why people living alone definitely keep a cat.

2. For protection from pests:

In old times, people kept cats to chase away rats. Even today in villages, cats are kept for this reason.

3. For unconditional love:

A dog demands a lot from its owner, you have to take it outside. A cat lives very peacefully. It is happy inside the house. It comes sometimes and shows love, this is what people like very much.

In today's time:

Today in Pakistan also, the hobby of indoor cats has increased a lot. Especially people living in flats like to keep cats because they do not need much space.So this was a small history of keeping cats. If you also want to keep a cat for peace, it is the best decision.
